Julia Klawitter

I am a textile designer in my last semester before my diploma at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart.

In the course of my studies I have learned various textile design techniques, such as weaving on button and

computer-controlled looms, knitting on single-bed and double-bed knitting machines, as well as screen and

digital printing, plus 3D printing.

In my design I like to combine these techniques and most of all deal with the transformation of my inspirations

into handmade textiles. I love to think in techniques and which one is best suited form my work.

For me, a textile is something that constantly surrounds us and is a part of us, so I care about their

characteristics and richness of detail.
