Lea Jaeger

My name is Lea Jaeger and I am currently studying Textile Design at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart. During my 7 semesters of the Diploma program I gained knowledge about weaving on button and computer-operated looms, mechanical knitting on double and one bed machines as well as screen printing and digital printing. Before starting my studies in Stuttgart I participated in a preparatory study year at the Werkbund Werkstatt Nürnberg focussing on working with different materials. For my work I seek inspiration in the difficulties and errors while in the process of designing and producing. There for these flaws become part of my design as a partly controllable element. I experiment hands-on with different techniques, materials and their interaction with each other.
