"A woven textile designer with a strong focus on colour in all of my work. Interesting combinations and proportions form the basis of my work and these are enhanced with the use of exquisite yet practical fibres: silk, cotton and merino wools. My current work is heavily inspired by large tropical leaves and results in exciting uses of stripes and simple woven structures within my designs. I have strong skills in hand drawing and my initial drawings and yarn developments are imperative to the success of my woven designs, allowing me to test colour combinations and stripe proportions out before committing to the loom. I also have skills in hand dyeing yarns to ensure the correct shade and tone.

I am a recent graduate from Loughborough University where I received a First Class Honours in Textiles and a Diploma in Professional Studies after having completed a Placement Year in Industry. I have exhibited my hand woven collection at New Designers, TexSelect London Preview and Premiere Vision in Paris. Before I studied Textiles I studied painting, and art is still something that I am inspired by today. I believe that the compositions, colour combinations and textures created with paint lend themselves for further development in Woven Textiles".
