Melissa Anna Ougham
"I am a printed textile designer, with a passion for hand screen-printing and capturing expressively painted brush stokes directly onto fabric.
My fondest way of working captures expressive and experimental mark making and developing them into contemporary textures or dramatically bold and graphic patterns. I have a passion for experimenting and printing textures on a wide range of dynamic and unusual fabrics in order to constantly evolve and challenge the outcomes of my designs, keeping them contemporary.
I enjoy pushing this technique even further by scanning in designs and digitally changing and layering them to create a design that feels completely different. I love working directly with colour creating instant colour palettes and combinations directly onto the fabric. Often working with layering atmospheric hues to create a multitude of depth and tone juxtaposed with highlights of vivid, electric colour."
